Picked up this longbow today.  It is a 60 inch with a 42# pull at 28" by the embossed lettering on the handle backside.  No other markings what so ever on the entire bow.  It has a right hand maple riser and a black or very dark brown laminate on the back and belly of the bow.  I'm not familiar with posting a photo on this site so I will just have to type what it has stamped (embossed) into the bows riser. (3 separate lines)

60"
8D 167
42# 28"

I'll have to read up on the "how to's" on posting photos here.

See if this link to another website that I posted the same inquiry will work for viewing the photos.

If this is an infraction to the rules of Tradgang I appologize.

It appears you have to register on that site to see the photos. At least I can't. Email photos to me at gkowen@comcast.net and I will post them here for you.

Thanks for the photo help Greg!

Looks to me like a older American Archery bow made in Clarendon Hills, Illinois. It would of had a sticker on it indicating the model bow. More than likely a Cheetah or Amarco.

Did American Archery mark their bows with this type of stamps.  The only other maker I can find that actually stamped their bows were the older Root bows.

I have a couple older American Archery bows with the same stamping.
