Today was Glenn St. Charles' birthday.  I meant to get some pics of my St. Charles stuff but work got in the way.  I'll have to settle for some late night shots with my Thunderbird and an old pic.

Thanks Glenn.

Well it was 9:42pm on December 15th here on the west coast when I posted it... Darn time corrections!

I owe a lot to Mr. St. Charles...a few years ago I bought a few things from the next generation, Joe...in an email Joe told me he feels the nicest bows are from the Sixties...pretty sure he is right

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

At least Fred is shooting a recurve! Cool pic showing great form on Glenn. His Northwest Archery Store and Museum was well worth a visit while it was there. Love those plaid shirts and camo pants on all three!
Looks like some fun shooting going on there.......

Bjorn

You gotta' love the action and focus on Fred's face-like a cat about to pounce!

I feel myself lucky to have a Green Stripe handle signed by Glenn at the P&Y banquet in Denver. I have taken few games with it and never missed a single one. RIP Glenn, thanks for what you made for the sport.

When I visited his shop and the museum I introduced myself to him and told him I lived in Alaska and his eyes lit up. He sat me down and just started talking about his hunts. He then signed his book for me. Then he asked me if I wanted to hold Saxton Popes Longbow ... the hold grail of bows and took it out of the case and let me take hold of that bow and examine it. Wow!
Great memory, thanks Glenn.
There's something about holding a longbow in your hand!

Bjorn

Fortunately for us Jay, Suzanne and Joe are carrying on the tradition!

Very Nice looking bows!!! and hard too find an original with around 300 having been made....... It's been in the back of my mind to order a new one. Long riser design with narrow limb tips sounds like a nice shooter!!
Here's some younger days of Mr St.Charles ..........

Bjorn

Very nice pictures Larry! If you get a T Bird made by Jay you will love it!

Happy birthday to Glenn, a truly inspirational human.

Another year come and gone.

Brad

It was still December 15th on the west coast when I posted....

Hobow

Bump for another year older.

Happy Birthday Glenn!

I keep "Bows on the Little Delta" by my bedside for late night reading.  It's great inspiration for Alaskan hunting dreams.
