This is currently on the auction site.  Pictures are not the best quality but it appears to be a MSW 1959 Kodiak 64" and 45#.  What do you think?  Jim

It is a little rough.  I do not remember ever seeing a '59 with cresent brown above the maple.  That makes it look more like a '58.  The shape and glass colors appear correct for a fifty nine.  I did not pay attention to the serial number.  Will have to go back and see if it is a very early '59.

If my memory serves me correctly, serial # DA302 would be 64" and the 302nd bow built in January.  That does not explain the top of the sight window

Bow looks OK. Whether or not this seller is a 501C (charitable org) is anybody's guess. So this may not be tax deductible. That said LH bows are not as collectible like righties-that is just how it is. The bow looks fine to me especially if you are a leftie.

The sight window kind of threw me off and the limb tapers at the tips didn't look like my 59.  It does look rough to me, I'll not be bidding on this one.  The seller said here is no coin and there are no holes drilled.  I also think it may be a very early 59.   Jim

Seller may have meant "coin is missing" when he said "there is no coin"? DA260 (mine) has a coin and is black ink. I have an earlier MSW  black ink and no coin. The bows that never had a coin were produced in the first coupla' weeks. The 'D' does signify a 64" bow.

I keep going back and looking at the bow.  It just comes across as an oddball with the square looking bow tips and the sight window just isn't right.  Does anyone have a good picture of just the sight window of a maple version'59?  That bow looks to me to be a '58 that had a drilling done for a coin.

I just pulled it up again and compared the profile of the sight window with my 64" '59 Kodiak and that bow does not taper down quickly enough.

I viewed some 59's on ******* and the maple sight window has the same crescent as the one listed.  I do not own a 64" and cannot compare the limb taper.  It appears the seller has a fairly high reserve, although I do recall one going for over $900 earlier this year.  jim

Jim,
Nothing is selling for what it was. 3 59's just sold for under $300 last week. Not good times to be a seller right now unless you picked up a bow dirt cheap.

I sold a 59 56" Kodiak a little over a month ago for $675

I placed a couple of bids on it, up to the point that I was losing interest and still didn't hit the reserve.  Some better pictures would clear up a lot of my doubts.  I would like to see a full length sideview of the bow.

Shane, I assume the 56" bow is quite a bit more rare than the 64"
