just picked this one up on the auction site. Early 1970's? What can you tell me about it?

Thanks, Shaun

This is my best guess

Raised Button Medallion + 1953 Canada Patent + color combo = late 1972.

Factory stab insert.

Crazing in the finish is normal and does not affect performance.

Nice Back Quiver you got there. My first guess would be Carlisle, 1960s ?

I have no idea how the sight works. Strange thing.

Hope it helps...

nice super k not even sure if that is a sight it looks more like one of those hooks you try to get a cupie doll with. Shoot it I am sure that you will like it then get it off to one of the "doctors" that frequent this sight for a makeover

The sight is a Sprandel rangefinder. I had one of them back in the 60's. You reach forward with your finger and pull up or down with the finger fork to bracket the deer. Shot my first deer with one on my Red Wing Hunter....Mike

Thanks guys. I was surprised to get it, must have scared off some collectors with the weird sight and obvious drilling for same. I have been looking for a super k to try afield and this one out to work, may even try to repair the fancy sight.

Bow quiver and some arrows with greenies a nice plus and the back quiver looks like it might be a gem.

That one will clean up fine and should shine like a new penny with a little elbow grease. The Fullerplast finish has yellowed and wrinkled, but the fiberglass underneath is as smooth as a baby's bottom. Use the highest number wet and dry sandpaper and s-l-o-w-l-y erase the weathered finish. Even a modest amount of rubbing will give you confidence. Just don't get impatient.

Darnit Shaun, so you're the one who won that.  I'm bo-huntr and you barely outbid me!  I was afraid of the finish also.  Although I've re-finished 5 old recurves now, none have had those marks and I was uncertain.  Run a new post as you re-do it, I'd like to see how it turns out!
