62" 43lbs-its in good shape but the top limb stress concerns me. Ive shot worse but not one thats this old.Ive had a red wing and a pearson blow this year so Im a little leery....Thanks Curt

I don't think age is a factor; but your draw is pretty long.
If it were me........I'd sell the bow and look for a vintage 64"er.

Curt I've not ever seen many Bear bows break do to the stressing in the limbs.Or let me refraze that a little..If it's just the normal bear factory stress looking stuff.I would probley shoot a few and see how it goes. The stressing is really expansition cracks and actually have nothing to do with stress. If you see many bear bows you will see sometimes what we would call stressing is sometimes in the glass overlaying the riser, which is pretty thick wood to have any type stressing or flexing. So about 99% of them are actually factory installed expansition cracks. But would it be possible for you to show a couple pics of the area ? bowdoc

Doc if you look at pic two (above the flash mark) the white line in the string groove and just to the left they show as white lines.  I can get my fingernail to catch them slightley but what you have said makes sense.Since the sixties Ive seen 4 bows blow up and all 4 were seperations at the fades like the glue just gave up at the area of stress.I still have a load of others to shoot so I may take it easy on this one.It is a nice bow hanging with its younger bros....Thanks
