Bit new here but loving the atmosphere and the excelent knowledge base, thaught you folks might be able to help me with a bow question.

I have a recurve Browning Safari II 60" 51# with the number 9C1557 written on the riser in gold.  Just wondering if anyone had any information on this bow.
Hunt fair, hunt hard, no regrets.

I have one with a 7 beginning the serial number. I think that the late 1960's brownings were numbered like Bears, that is the first number being the year of manufacture. Yours being a 1969.

The safari is one of the more collectible Brownings and a desirable hunting bow. Mine shoots like a dream. I like the 62" Explorer II as well, that is my hunting bow. Have fun shooting your bow!

Thanks Horney Toad, Ive been pretty happy with it for several years.  Mainly I use mine for bow fishing.  Its not pristine so I doubt its what you might call collectable and Im not inclined to sell it at any rate.

Sounds like it is collectable to you my friend, that's what counts. Good shootin!
