I have an old 68" Ben Pearson static-tip Yew recurve that is backed with rawhide.  I think that this bow was made in 1942.  The only writing on the bow is the Ben Pearson logo with the arrow over the words.  The rawhide shows numerous cracks, but the wood seems sound.  The new cost was $37.50 for the base bow.  The recurved tips were $5.00 extra, and the rawhide backing was $4.00 extra.  $46.50 for a new bow isn't bad!! (might have been kind of pricey in 1942)

I would like opinions on whether or not to string this bow and shoot it.   Is this bow one  that a collector might want, or just a neat old novelty?

All opinions will be greatly appreciated.

The most important part of your hunting setup is the broadhead.  The rest is just the delivery system.

How about some pictures. Sounds like a neat bow.

I wouldn't string it.

Hood,
Send me your e-mail address, and I'll try to send you some pics.  I don't know how to post them here.
