Grizzly stick safari

Just bought another BW recurve, 72@28 about 80 at my 30+ draw. I was thinking of starting with safari Grizzly stick,200 to 315 tip. Does this seem about right,and will the brass inserts acept the brass weights that I use in my CX and GT. I thought this would be the place to ask,any help would be great. Thanks   TERM

Your arrow will be far too weak !
You need arround 100# of dynamic spine with those specs...You should rather look to Aluminium 2114 footed with .400 carbon arrow, IMO

I shoot similar specs and didn't want to mess with double shafts.  I found that the AD Big game shafts can handle alot of weight up front.  I only draw a little over 29".  With a 30" arrow, 100 grain brass insert, 210 grains of pdp weights, and a 200 grain field tip, they fly great with an estimated draw weight of 79# from my Morrison Dakota. The spine is listed at .200, but I dont think that conventional spine applies to these arrows.  Oh, and no those inserts won't work.

AD is for ArrowDynamics? Are they making a Big game shaft .200 spine?? i never heard about theese. Where can i find more info since i am very interested in theese stiff spined shafts.

I know that Paul at Badger Arrow and Ted a Raptor Archery can get them for you, but last I heard they dont keep them in stock.  Both are good guys to deal with.  Yes, they are arrow dynamics shafts.

Mate, your Grizzlystik arrow as you described will be fine. I load over 350 grains up front on a 30" Safari, and shoot 83# @ 29". The Grizzlystik is a very tolerant shaft, meaning that they still fly well no matter what weight goes up front.

The AD the guys speak of above are called Hammer Heads, Ted sent me three to play with and they are one tough shaft. They are tappered even more so than the Grizzly Stick. As Ben says, what you speak of above should work fine. I have had 400gr up front on my Grizzly alaskans out of 75# and they fly fine. Give them both a try and see what you like best.

Hey Dave, How's it going.  I'm actually talking about the nitrostinger Big Game shafts that are made by AD.  They are only 11/64 diamter in the front.  The new shafts that Paul just posted about are probably the same spine, but are quite abit heavier and may make it a little more difficult to get EFOC, if it is a concern.  The big game shafts probably aren't gonna be as tough up front, though.  That hammerhead design seems pretty bulletproof.
