BUFF

Mark and I went down to Victoria to try to kill a couple of Alligators. It was my first time to try it. It turned out to be a blast. I started off by shooting a 8 footer and we have a blast getting him in. Mark and I shot him half a dozen times before he weekend enough for us to get him on shore. We had den even gotten are gear sorted out when a monster of a gator appeared. We scrambled around and Mark took my 83# widow while I worked on his. By the time I turned around he had made a great shot and we were hooked up to another. He shot the big boy at 1:30. An hour later we finally got another arrow in him only to break the string. I was tyeing on another arrow when the outfitter hollered look at that. The Gator swam up on the bank. Chunky went to work on him and hit him with 4 broad heads in less than a minute.
He made it back into the water and I was able to get another arrow in his tail that was hooked to 600 pound line. We finally had him twisted up enough to get a rope on his tail and haul him to the bank. It took us 3 1/2 hours and every arrow we had between us to get him in. I was as tired as I can get but mighty proud of my buddy's Gator, it was huge. Mark has all the fight footage on his camera but I had his first shot on mine so you can at least have a preview.

I like the technique of using a bait to bring them closer. Also day light makes so much more sense. Who ever came up with the idea that we have to hunt them after dark in Florida needs to see how efective and safe daylight hunting is.
Aaah, yup it`s dead.

Good job!  How big is the bull gator?

We have also had so much better luck in daylight, esp. early morning.
Let's go to the woods and learn things about life (Penelope, age 4, to me).

We had no way of weighing it.

Nice video One of my buddies has killed several gators in Louisiana. Even had to use his knife on one of the small ones they thought was dead.

If you're going to make a hole, make it a big one.
