This is a favorite recipe of the "Old Bowhunter" himself, Chet Stevenson. Now it's one of mine.

2 pounds venison
salt & pepper
2 cups stewed tomatoes
1 sliced onion
1/2 green pepper
1 can ripe olives
1 tbs. sugar
Flour

pound meat which has been floured and seasoned. Brown in hot bacon grease. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and cook over low heat (300) until tender, 2 to 2 1/2 hours, uncover the last half hour to cook down sauce to a rich thickness. Serves 3-4

"serves 3-4" not in my camp better double the recipe for 3-4.  Nobody goes away hungery in my elk camp.

Yeah, mushrooms! My wife has pretty much the same recipe, with mushrooms, it is gooood!

No olives though, another variation of good eats.
