I have gaps in my shooting, like five years or so and then the bug hits and I'm back @ it.The older I get the more difficult it becomes to remember the ins and outs of shooting a longbow so I kinda have to start over and start from the beginning.I have been shooting again four about six weeks, every day and sometimes I forget to put on my arm guard. The weather been so warm here i practice in a t- shirt.I know that with a jacket I would need one. Just curious if I might be holding the bow wrong.Accuracy is okay.

Shooting in a jacket or long sleeves I have a tendency to hit my sleeve once in a while with the string so I wear one. I read when others are afraid of a carbon arrow shattering but I do it for the sleeve thing. I don't like the heavy leather bracers but wear a lighter one.

yea I can see that not to mention the heavy leather ones make you sweat. Very uncomfortable.

Use one out of habit. If the string is going to scrape my arm it will be while shooting one of my longbows. Don't seem to have a problem with the recurves. Different hand positions.
Come cold weather, it's almost a necessity because of the layers of clothing. Don't want to make a bad shot because the string caught on a jacket sleeve.
