I shot a recurve for the first time in 25 years this week. It seemed like I was more accurate when I actually came to full draw and held for just a split second. I see so many guys shoot so quick, almost like in one motion. Snap shooting I guess. Am Im wrong for not shooting like that?

Landon,

I would recommend that you take a look at the topics on this forum and read through more of them. There is a lot of information about what you ask about.

You will find your answer there.

Don't judge yourself by what everyone else does, judge yourself by your results. There isn't a right or better way. It comes down simply what works best for you. I made a huge mistake imitating other shooters because they were better than me. It took a long circle for me to realize I needed to continue to shoot in the way that worked for me. After all, it's my bow, my arrows and my shot.

Google Rick Welch shooting school and watch a master shoot and work with his students on a 1001,1002 technique. I could watch this guy shoot all day.

What is the 1001 1002 technique.  Any samples on you tube
