Im new to Traditional archery but trying to learn as fast as I can.

I draw 28" and my bow weight is an estimated 57# at 28" (recurve). I need to get it measured but havent got there yet.

For a ~29.5" arrow with a 125 grain tip the Easton chart recomends a 2315 along with some 22XX shafts.

The Kelly chart recomends a 2018 or maybe 2020. Most of the posts on the board seem to echo the Kelly chart.

My bow isnt anywhere neer centershot so I know it will require a somewhat weaker spine.

Are the guys that make the arrows that far off?

The Easton arrow chart is just a starting point...It does not take into consideration your "exact" bow or the dynamics of your shooting style...My guess is for you to start with a 2018 and go from there.

Good Luck!

Rick:
Go with Kelly's chart its is correct for traditional bows, Easton's is way off. 2315's will spine well over 80#. 2020's are an excellent shaft 20 thousands wall nearly indistructable.

Thanks for the help guys. Being new at this I was inclined to go with the chart on the box.

Taking a seccond look I see that for basicaly the same setup on a compound the Easton chart recomends the same arrow. I know that aint right.

I have changed arrows several times (also point weight) in order to find what works well for me and my bow. I recomend buying only a couple arrows at a time until you figure it out. Buying a dozen might end up being a bit costly. wait till you find the right one for your bow, then buy the dozen.
