This past Friday my brother had the day off work and decided to hunt a piece of woods on my sister's property.
He called me after sunset and said "You will never believe what just happened."
He was in his stand when he saw two does come trotting through the woods toward him. They hopped a small creek and were coming up the bank when out of nowhere a nice 8 pointer comes running in and plows into one of the does, nocking her off her feet. He proceeded to beat her up and bulldozer her with his horns on the ground. He eventually let up and stepped out into a clearing, at which time my brother sent an arrow through his boiler room.  The buck lunged forward about 20 yards and then started to wobble and his rear end started to drop.  He walked off out of site into the brush, but my brother knew he was done.
So he shifted his attention back over to the doe and notices she was also staggering and wobbling around. She falls over into the creek and starts kicking her last death quivers.  After a few minutes he got down, went over to the creek bank,  and sure enough there she laid dead as a door nail.  Upon inspection he found the buck tore a hole in her side with some entrails hanging out.  When he butchered her, he also found that a tine had went into her lungs and heart.  He found his buck another 45-50 yards away, and spent all weekend processing venison.  He's saving me some - yum!

That's the most incredible hunt I've read about in a long time. Tell him a big CONGRATS from the gang! :clapper:

I've never heard of that before.  Congrats to your brother for the buck, and the subsequent doe.

That is one wild story.  We don't know half of what goes on in Mother Nature's territory.

That just shows how aggressive a buck can get during the Rut and not sure why he gored the doe but may have thought she was a "He" chasing her .
Either way the freezer will have some good meals in it.

Ybuck

wow!
glad you were able to salvage the doe as well
Steve.
