Got my new Wessel Archery takedown recurve.

Had Brian put some old school camo on the limbs. I'll see if I can figure out some pictures but it turned out great.

51# @ my 28" draw & I put the rest on there.

Got it figured out. I'm not sure why when I send pictures from my iphone camera via email it expands them so much. I know i'm not that old but good grief maybe I need to take a class on this stuff

I like how Brian put the camo on the front of the riser-haven't seen that before!

I put the rest on there, I just prefer shooting off a rest. Seems to help when my form isn't perfect

Still figuring out which arrows it likes best, I have some full length Easton Axis 400's & 500's I'm playing around with at this point- going to have to build a paper tuner I think, may be a good project for tomorrow while my wife is traveling back from Mexico.

I have 2 of each arrow, in each spine one has the standard 16 grain hit & the other has the 75 grain brass. I have a ton of field points ranging from 100-300 grains so i'll get it figured out.

I purchased Tom Clum's class, working my way through that so I'm not going to bother ordering a bunch of arrows until I'm sure my form is at least consistent enough to definitively tell which spine is going to work best.

I did order a couple custom mountain muffler strings- I just really like the wool wrap Steve puts on the string where it contacts the limb- also helps quiet my shot down even more if I happen to pluck the string.

I've got my target setup in the basement so I can shoot almost 13 yards & have been shooting daily when i'm not traveling for work.

As of right now the bow's maiden voyage will be for spring turkey, then Idaho for pronghorn before coming back to home to Iowa chasing whitetails! I am really excited to get to learn this bow (should've never sold the TallTines Brian built for me) and work my way towards qualifying for PBS regular membership!

I believe Brian is going by the name Wessel Archery now. I don't think he has a website up and running.

Awesome bow! He sure builds a fine stick.  Would have to think as long as your draw is 28 or more you're not going to get a 500 to fly out of that.  I know the original TT I had from Brian was 50@29 and I used a 31" 400 175 gr point and flew like darts.

No website yet, but his new company is Wessel Archery. He is working on getting a website up I believe

I know Mike had Brian's original TallTines, I'm not sure if he's shooting Brian's new bows or not honestly

You have a nice concept in that bow with camo limbs and riser. Brian's new recruves are more balanced than the original Tall Tines. There is less physical mass in the upper riser. Bows are a personal thing, and I'm glad Brian gives us more options to try. Yes, I got one from Brian in summer 2022. The grip is fuller than Tall Tine grip.

Great pics Mike thanks for sharing! I am hopeful I can do this bow justice!

I have a 58" Tall Tines recurve that is 52@28. (And 48@28 limbs also.) my arrows for the heavier limbs are FMJ 400 and 29". I am shooting 150 grain heads on them with standard inserts.
I put a rest on mine also.

Do you what bows are gonna be in his lineup.I see the T.D recurve.What about a 1 piece recurve or 1 piece longbow and 3 iece longbow etc.Should be interesting.

I believe the 3-piece longbow will be available, but I think the one-piece bows may depend on demand.
