Does anyone know anything about these older Ryobi drum sanders? And how is this price. Seems a little steep to me but I have no clue.

And yes I'm the newest aspiring bow maker posting alot.

New ones about $1000. To adjust side to side on those you have to shim under the feed table
Those will work but to me a bearing on each end is better.

I'm not familiar with the Ryobi machine at all, but i have a 16/32 Jet that has been a great machine.
These 16/32 models have heavier frames to support the drum, and a bigger motor too. I upgraded from a 10/20 machine and there was a huge difference....

You may want to inquire on age and get the serial number to make sure parts are available. All these machines will need some parts eventually. I've had to work on my Jet occasionally, but these are great tools.... If you end up getting it, i would highly recommend getting a drum lock set up to keep the drum from flexing too much. It comes in handy at times.    Kirk

Yeah that's what I'm worried about. I'm pretty sure they haven't been manufactured in like 20 years.

Hey brother I started 2 years ago and I was able to puck up one of the older model 10/20 jet drum sander and I believe it was just around that price.   Has been a real.treat to have in the shop.  Haven't purchased any lamination since. Just processing whole boards of maple and laminated bamboo planks amd then sending them threw on some sleds.

Yeah I think I'm gonna keep and eye on it. Hopefully it's around after the holidays.

I would suggest Google it. What I see is they don't make them anymore,  I had one for awhile and hardly ever used it,
Like my Baby Drum much better.
