Well guys on the back home to Arkansas now and just passed the driving duties off to Trick, so now I can maybe get yall caught up. Day 1 started off as total chaos from the moment we stepped out of the truck, had javis to the left, javies to the right and, javies behind us in the thick stuff. We spent most of the day nonstop stalking, learning the area we were in and trying to pattern these dudes. Had several close calls, some as close as 4 yds, but no clean shot opportunities. Thought I might as well speak about another Sponsor's product on the trip... Thorogood Boots.

This is by no means a wear test as this was the 2nd time I wore these. 1st was one afternoon in Cohutta chasing bears, and this is a 5 day evaluation of basically brand new boots.

No break in, no hot spots, no discomfort,  no fatigue.  These boots offered real comfort and support during the week covering miles chasing javies. I'm real happy with them as their 1st impression is impressive. They were a pleasure to wear.....

Now it will take a while to see how well they hold up. But I am rough on shoes.

Thanks for Sponsoring Thorogood. :campfire:

Day 2 started off the same way as Day 1, javies in several spots, Spent most of the morning trying to put the sneak on em with again several close calls but no good shots. The ground where we were hunting has lots of small rocks and the dirt is kinda crunchy making  it difficult to be super quiet. To many thorns around to slip around in yer sock feet so about mid day we decided to change tactics. We noticed a few areas they liked to hang around in so we figured we would sit and wait.

Wow, if that was your "lodge" you were roughing it in style!!!   :campfire:  Really loving the posts, making me want to go even more, keep the stories coming.

Too many bows to list, and so many more I want to try!  Keep the wind in your face, and your broadheads sharp.

Afternoon, Day 2, found a hole in the cactus and mesquite thicket about 8 feet off the road in a place where I had seen a group feed around several times and threw a few mesquite limbs on the ground in front of me for cover

Afternoon day 2 continued. Got settled in about 2 and about 4 heard some huffing behind me and to my left. Time to get my bow up and tab on the string, heard some hooves on rocks about the same time i caught movement out of the corner of my eye, they are about 20yds and heading my way. Time to be like molasses, it don't take much to booger these guys. Let the lead one get perfectly broad side and about 8 yds and started my draw, picked a spot and let er fly. At the end of my draw he must have caught a little movement and turned quartering toward me a bit but I saw my arrow enter just behind the elbow, he turned and ran off with my arrow hanging by the fetching, went about 30yds and

Good times spent with my son, Good group of guys, and good coffee! Thanks to everyone who made this happen. I am truly blessed.

Only downside other than everything that grows here has thorns is that my javalina broke one of my few remaining 300 spine GT blems that I don't believe they make any more! Small price to pay

Wow. Great stuff. Seems so many want throw up a post on instaham with no story or substance.  Nice to see Tradgang still telling stories in detail. I remember years ago when many told stories of hunts in detail.  Charlie Lamb was always the ring leader, an no need to fear 'I must click the like button for acceptance " bs.

Going to order High Noon today.
