Thank you, Jamish..

By way of sharing, I JUST got a call from the UROLOGISTS' office they re-did my PSA test on Thursday last and called today to tell me its back down well below 0. now...it had been before, then rocketed back up to 12.5 so they did radiation to shrink the tumor, gave me a rash and esophogeal problems for a while, then a LUPRON shot in the butt which I will repeat in DEC and started me on Xtandi, a new drug to replace the Casodex.  i don't wish to be crude but that Casodex medication made my nipples and breasts very sore / tender... It all is a hormone process of 'blocking' the hormones that feed prostate cancer...I am not savvy enough to know if it mean it's blocks or KILLS my testosterone but if it's the latter, I am going to make one pug ugly female! :(

Happy to hear the good news about the PSA test results.  Sorry about the side effects, but as you know, there is always something.  Continued prayers for your well being.  Stay strong, you are not alone in this.  May God work through your doctors hands.

Good news on the PSA reading Doc. Mine has gone back up. Oncologist is doing all kinds of test trying to find out why it's going up.  Guess I'll know more after November 9 th unless he orders more test.

That's good to hear that the psa #'s is down for ya Doc.

The one doc, who did the radiation, said that they often yo-yo after that treatment for a while...

Mine went down then back up , They opted to wait a bit and WATCH... Been a wild ride here, too!  Somewhere in that mess, they re-did bone and PET scan and found the "escaped" cells in spine, had grown...after that, the Urologist stuck me on Proscar and Casodex, which made my boobs sore...THEN it shot back up and the URO doc switched to Lupron shots and Xtandi... plus more radiation... and now it's down again... Will it stay down? Dunno...

Rider, I hope they can nail yours down a bit...

They also found the mass after the 12.5 in the spine

No worries Doc.  Even if you end up resembling Caitlyn Jenner those hands will clear up any doubts.  (I met this fine Prayer Warrior once over dinner when my post-retirement employer sent me to Lancaster for training for a few days.  The one thing that stuck in my mind was that I thought I had shaken hands with Sasquatch, lol....and I wear a large glove!)  Prayers still being sent, keep your eyes on the Son.

I don't like to step on someone's post but now there are 3 new ones here and I want you all, Rich, Jed and Ron to know I truly appreciate your kind words and well wishes...

Thank you, Gents!

By way of an update...

Thursday late I showered to be ready for an AM Urologist Doc appt.. This time of year my back gets itchy, I suppose from Heat pump dry heat and taking warmer showers???

By Friday afternoon, I realized something was different..

Friday night and all weekend I felt like someone had taken 60 grit sandpaper to my hide on my back and torso...

BY Monday I wanted Answers! Wrong!

I went in to see the urology doc and laid out my problem..while waiting I called the Oncologist / Radiologist cause areas of sensitivity were the same a a 'Rash" I'd gotten from treatment that they correctly said would go away, but i thought perhaps there was something that occurrs infrequently they didn't mention?

Well, no help there and the URO doc only wanted to prescribe pain med... Nah... He'd confirmed already the new medication I'm on shrinks the "boys" in order to quell Testosterone release the feeds prostate cancer...

What he said was that it all a part of medicinal castration.. DAMN!!

So... it is what it is but neither Doc's office was of any help... At least the Urologist took time to see me amidst a bunch of patients and they were really backed up...

Thanks, Keith... you're a good and faithful friend... I'm somewhat resigned to just enduring whatever this is at least until the results of the first ever Lymph CT scan (didn't know they were done separate) and my 3rd CT Bone scan...

Only thing I learned from Oncology / Radiology nurse was if there is pain anywhere in the spine it (nerves) wrap around to the front, and the "pain" (feels like someone took a belt sander to my back and belly) is a rawness not totally unlike a bad sunburn..

One older neighbor here said it sounds like SHINGLES, but there is no skin eruptions in over a week...

If the scans (wonder why they waited a YEAR to do a lymph scan?) show something significant, then I have to decide whether or if to continue on this horrific oral med and Lupron shots....

Doc I had my Lupron shot last week. Normally they give it in the butt cheek and it knott's up and hurts for about 2 weeks. This time the nurse told me there were two different injections. One for the stomach and one for the butt. I told her the one for the stomach sounded horrible. She said the one in the butt went into the muscle which is what caused it to knott up. The one in the stomach went into fat and that is the one she recommended. I said I have plenty of fat so let's go with it. It burned like heck for about 5 minutes. After that I have had no soreness or problems at all. Something for you to think about. In the meantime know that I am still praying for you and hope things turn for the better. God bless.

Doc Nock

Know that I appreciate all prayers!!! I do!!!!  I think that while I got this sandpapered back and belly feeling, the Lupron shot I got last time in the buttock wasn't pleasant but I gently instructed the nurse (cause she'd said it was thick) to inject it slowly so it didn't form a "KNOT" and it only was tender (sorta) that day...

And that was a large dose 4 month shot

Doc, don't think for one second that you are not on my daily prayer list. I have not forgotten. :campfire:

Doc Nock

I'd never think that of ya ole Kirk... :):)

Prayers are always appreciated... get 2 new scans (CT done tomorrow) one bone and one that is ostensibly for the LYMPH to see where this cancer is now after several months on this new Xtandi medication...

PSA is DOWN (again) but this soreness of skin and meat around from back to belly has me consternated... NO outbreak, just raw, if it's shingles it's a mild case but the Xtandi does lower ones white count so infection is more likely while on it....
