I will be leaving in just a little over a week for Namibia.  Have a lot packed, but still shooting the two bows I will be taking.  Putting a bow in each set of luggage and a dozen arrows as well in each.  Just in case something gets lost.  NOT looking forward to going into Johannsburg though.  Have heard some bad stories about having to pay a bribe to get bows back.  Just heard another one a couple weeks ago.  Guy had a compound bow and had to pay $300. to get it back.  Maybe my takedown recurves will not show up on the xray machine.  Going to try and book all the luggage straight through to Namibia and avoid customs in Jburg.  Hope it works.  Also not looking forward to the 16 hr flight.  Oh well, it should be fun once we get there.  Keep me in your prayers, as I don't like to fly.

Would love to hear more from "Elksong" about his trip.  Thought he would post more info and photos.

Hope you have.a.great trip.  A fistful  of American one dollar bills, given out one at.a time, will greasr.lots of skids at J'burg.  Look forward to takes and pictures.

Just not excited about the 16 hr air flight over the ocean.  Thinking about taking a couple extra 5 gallon cans of gas, just in case we run a little short!!!

Have a great time.  I am sure that you are winding up for the big day, but take a deep breath and get some sleep.  You are well prepared on every level.  Once you hit the ground you will feel like a kid in a candy store.  Take pictures like crazy, what the heck they are all digital and cost nothing (on my first trip I took 24 rolls of film with 36 pictures each: ouch).  The weather will be great, the trip over is its own adventure, and when ya get to Makalaan it will be just plain fun every day. You better share with us when you get back
