This guy came in trailing a doe and grunting like a scene from a hunting video at 8:15 this AM. A 4 yard shot from my new BW PLX paired with a Razorhawk broadhead from Red Feather Archery put him down real quick! This is my best buck ever with trad gear.

I was in a treestand about 17 feet up. I had to wait for him to get past me to shoot because he was too close when he came under me. I had to tell myself to pick a spot over and over as he was coming in.I was not sure I was even going to be able to shoot as it was happening. This was definitely one of the most exciting hunts I have had in my 24 years of deer hunting.

thats awesome. i found i cannot shoot much closer that ten yards from a tree stand.

I missed a nice buck last year twice from a treestand at less than ten yards. I learned to aim plenty low from that close. I hit this deer about mid way through the ribs and my arrow came out through the bottom of his chest on the opposite side. The front leg is covering the exit hole in the pic.
