I took this doe just before the gun season started here in Michigan.  15 yard shot, 30 yard recovery.  Schafer recurve, 53# @ 28, gold tip 3555 with 50 grain insert and an Eclipse 125 4-blade with a 75 grain insert.

Unfortunately I missed a nice 8-point five minutes after I shot her.  Of course he came in behind me and I shot under his brisket at between 20 & 25 yards.

If you had gotten that 8 point you would have had more than a hand full. Wait on him until when your hands are free to just deal with him. Nice experience!

longrifle

nice pic, doe, bow, hat, and jacket. is that a classic bowman outfit?

Congradulations Dave.
I use to know a couple of Pagel brothers who use to live in Wyoming. The oldest brother Tom, was in law enforcement in Wyoming, while the younger brother, Dave, moved back east. I lived in Colorado at the time and use to shoot leagues at Arrow Dynamics in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Ed Bennett is my name. Are you who I think you are?

Hey Ed.  I remember you from the leagues at Arrow Dynamics.  I often think of the guys from that league, you, Depperschmidt, Chadwick, that goofy kid Eichler or something like that.  There was a guy named Stumbo that made bows and killed some great deer in Nebraska.

The clothes are Classic Bowman.  I like them so far.

Jack, I can prove your theory wrong and unfortunately with witnesses.

Dave

rushlush

Sweet! I like the classic look too.
