INFO: Trad Archery for Bowhunters

Got this guy at 3:45 this afternoon. He was with several does and another smaller buck. Shot at 10 paces with a DAS riser/Hoyt limbs, 43# @ 26", Excel 500's and an Ace broadhead. A complete pass through. Used a string tracker and without it I would have had a hard time finding this buck.

Tells more about the recovery. Pass through and no blood trail. How far did he travel? Did you get both lungs?

High shot cut both lungs. Just a few small flecks of blood the first 75 yards, nothing the first 25 or so. A little better blood after that but the light was fading. The tracker string was a wonderful help. Much easier to see the blood the next morning but that was of little help when I was following him up after the shot. He went about 200 yards total, mostly down hill into a hole of course.
