I filled my one and only MT buck tag this evening so guess I'm doe hunting from here on out. Went up the river this afternoon to find several deer already around the stand I intended to climb into so I backed out and went for option 2. As I was climbing up this tree I spied a doe bedded not 30 yards away but somehow I got into the stand without being spotted. It wasn't but five minutes before things started happening as a dink buck came sneaking in to the doe. She stood and that's when this guy came busting out of the brush from behind the doe. I've been watching three nice bucks for a couple weeks now and this was #3 but I wasn't going to pass any opportunities. Fore it was over there were three dink bucks circling the courting couple, soon as this guy would run off one of the little guys another would try and sneak in. This went on for an hour with all the deer within 40 yards most of the time but I never had an opportunity for a shot. Finally things settled down when the little guys eased off. The doe headed straight east away from me and it looked like everything was going to vamoose and leave me empty handed. I couldn't beleive it after all the excitement then for some reason this buck circled my way and walked by at 12 steps. The 160 griz from my Keith Deters BBO took all the plumbing off the top of his heart and it was over in 50 yards.
