sweet buck!  the only downside to shooting a buck like that for your first is what do you shoot next to top it?  i sold a super mag 48 to someone in monterrey, mexico back in the summer.

Did you take it in the area of General Trevino or Doctor Gonzalez?
I heard some stories of monster deer comming out of those areas and if your's is from the vicinity, I may have to look into setting up a hunt in that area with some aquaintances I have.

Gerardo, that is the biggest deer I have ever seen, body wise, and I used to do a lot of hunting in the Paras, Nuevo Leon and Guerrero, Tam. areas a few years ago.

Have you noticed that the times you don't get nothing while hunting, are usually the most fun you've ever had.

Gerardo

thank you alex, i think the paras and guerrero area are a lot better gentics like they have a wider spread, I have also seen some pics of Dr Gzz

the population has grown considerably in the resent years here in mexico, and gentics are good if we hunt old deer they usually havve a good rack,

these hunt was close to lampazos, I have a lease on juarez cohuila also, my wife took a 160 two years ago there, and the deer are pretty nice up there hope in getting my second one there

our season just started and ends until january

do you bow fish? because of your nick,

Yes sir, Gerardo, I bowfish just about every chance I get.  I'm planning on visiting a buddy's place here in Guerrero this weekend if time permits, and I agree with you on the genetics of the deer in Northern Mexico.  My dad took one with a 23" spread a few years ago and we were always taught to only shoot deer with atleast a 16" spread.  In that lease we had a buck we called El Diablo, we only saw him on occasion, and everyone that hunted with us had atleast one shot at him, nobody ever connected.  Rifle, bow that buck knew where the safe zone was and the closest we ever got was when I jumped him from a cactus patch one windy day.  Of course I didn't have an arrow nocked and he stayed there looking at me for a minute before bounding away.  Man I need to get back to Mexico and do some hunting, it's a whole new world across the river.
