i have been hunting in iowa for the past 8 days and have 4 days left  to hunt. We are experiencing poor rutting movement due to very warm weather. I got lucky last tuesday and killed this big doe, She walked into a scrap i was hunting down wind of. i let her walk into the scrape and it was fun to watch her bat around the scent wick i had hung from the licking branch. She walked away only to return 15 minutes later and do the same thing all over again. I decided i would shoot her and then totally blew the shot. I still dont know what I did to cause my arrow to miss the mark . I thought I hit her low in front of her shoulders and gave my self hell for 90 minutes before getting down to look for blood. As luck would have it , i actually hit her n the lower throat severing the  jugular and wind pipe and she only went 40 yards.

The head on that thing looks like a horse's head.  Congrats and enjoy the rest of your hunt.
