My son asked me to make 3 identical utility knives except for the size. So, he's going to get a pappa bear, momma bear and baby bear set.

First done, naturally, is the baby bear for my granddaughter. 2" blade of Alamabama damascus, stabilized redwood burl scales and some file work along the spine. There is really a lot of chatoyance in this blade. All three will be identical except for the size. All 3 blades are from the same bar, all the handle scales came from the same block and of course all 3 sheaths will come from the same steer    :D    I'll take some better pictures once I have all 3 done. Hopefully the other two will not have the filework booboo in the middle of the blade.

Thanks Lin. We all know when there are mistakes in our blades, but by the time my granddaughter is old enough to find them, I'll be too old to care   :)

Finally got the 3 bears done. Got side tracked for a while. Was hoping to have them ready for Christmas, but have family coming in tomorrow, so no way the sheaths will get done.

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki
