A Japanese sword collector/dealer asked me to make him a 5" fighter at the last Oregon Knife Show. Not my cup of tea, but he challenged me to use somewhat different construction technique than "normal", so I became interested. D2 tool steel (Rockwell 60.5) with stabilized redwood burl handle inserts.  

That is great. I really like it!

Mike, that is most interesting!  Really great job on that, you should be proud.  I can't stop looking at it!
