First, thanks to all the knifemakers who share their talents and tips on here. I have a friend who is a toolmaker and he wanted to make some knives. I sent him to our forums and he found some great ideas and instruction. I am now the proud owner of a new knife with another on the way. Question about broadhead knives, being two edged/bladed is it legal in Michigan? He wasn't sure and warned me about it. He has a neat one made with a Ribtek and deer antler that I would like to carry  

I have made a bunch a while back and what I would do is file the top edge down where it is very blunt. I dont know if that would make it legal where you are but I liked it like that. I didnt like to have a sharp edge where my finger would be up top.

MCL 750.227   No. A dagger, dirk, stiletto, or double-edged non-folding stabbing instrument of any length, or any other dangerous weapon, except a hunting knife adapted and carried as such, cannot be carried concealed on or about a person, or whether concealed or otherwise in any vehicle operated or occupied by the person, except in their own home, place of business or on other land possessed by the person. "

No problem Mike.  Michigan laws on knifes and guns are pretty restrictive.  Most don't realize they are bad, but are nearly on line with NY, DC and Cali.

Hey Jeff what kind of BH did you use on that knife?? It doesnt look like a ribtek, look at my first pic the osage knife on top has a ribtek on it.

I would like to know what yours are cause that looks like a nice BH!

Oh sure Jeff, now that I'm pretty sure I can't carry one in Michigan you show that off. I guess it would close to that with a narrower handle.

Lewis, Those are some pretty cool looking broadhead knives.  I made one w/sheaths for each of my hunting buddies this year for christmas gifts. Now I wish I had taken pics to show off.
Guess I'll have to get em all together and get a pic or two taken.
