I am going to make a new sheath for a Tippit knife.   I have a tanned beaver tail that is too thin for a sheath.  Can I laminate to another leather to make the correct thickness?   If so, what glue or process works best for this?

Yes you can Mel. I have done a lot of that for sheaths. Just take the tail and glue it on the thicker leather you want under it. Stitch it up and edge coat it.  I use leather weld but titebond works also.<><

Yep done that a fair amount Mel but use barge cement mostly. If you use it just coat both pieces let er "set up" for a bit then stick em together. Make sure you got things where you want em before you put them together cause it'll be permenent. And don't forget to post pics.

I used to make animal skin quivers and I often used a 3M spray adhesive called 3M Super 77.
Spray both sides,allow approx. 30sec. to agressivly tack up then stick the two pieces together. Roll over it with an old rolling pin to push out any air and viola,a permanent bond you couldn't cut apart.

I use barge cement.
