Well since my 10 year old grandson does not have a computer I will post this for him as he truly is a Trad Ganger!

It was about 5:15pm Sunday the 4th 2007.  Just minutes before he shot this one he had four bucks come down the trail and the last one was a dandy but when Kody stood up to shoot the seat on his tree stand made a loud noise scaring the bucks off.  He said his heart sank as he knew he blew it.  So he closed his eyes and said a prayer;  he asked God to give him another chance.

As soon as he opened his eyes here comes his second chance right down the same trail the other bucks came.  This time he stood up real slow so the seat would not squeak.  The deer stopped right where he was hoping it would, he pulled back and anchored and let the arrow go.  Thud; the arrow hit low and stuck in the ground spooking the deer off.  Now this is where you can tell this young man's hunting training has paid off.  Without panic as the deer started to run Kody was already re-loading another arrow on his Kodiak Magnum, Kody bleated loudly using only his mouth, the deer stopped in its tracks.  Kody pulled back, anchored, this time he picked a spot and let her go.  Thud; this time he seen the deer run off with his arrow still in it, then just a few seconds later he heard a big crash and he knew his deer was down!

When he heard the crash in the woods he got out of his stand and picked up the blood trail.  He carefully followed the blood as he has done many times with his dad, uncle and grandpa.  Wow there not 40 yards away piled up in a big ball was his second chance deer.  Well bless his heart, he ran over to his dad's stand and whistled at him to get his attention when his dad finally seen him standing there all he seen was Kody with this same smile on his face pointing to his quiver which now only had one arrow in it.

Details of the hunt:
Bow – A green Kodiak Magnum – 45lbs @ 28 inches
Arrows – 5/16 cedar arrows with razor sharp ACE 100 grain broad heads.
Shot – 20 yards angling away.

WOW, sounds like Kody was born to hunt!  Very impressive.
I believe we choose the stick and string because extreme efforts and obstacles can and should be used to raise personal achievements to new heights and deeper meanings.

Excellent job, Kody.  Patience and experience are now yours to brag about, not to mention the steaks.  Welcome to the club!
