I just learned about this on another site. Please take the time to vote in opposition to any expansion of crossbows in MI. As a member of the MBH, I feel compelled to alert everyone about this oppertunity to have your voice heard. I am aware that I am also alerting the full intrusion crowd of this vote but in todays age of computers, they will learn about it anyway. Also, I'm certain there are far more people in favor of keeping the archery season in it's traditional form than those that seek to make this unpopular change. Pass the word.

Thanks RGK. I voted for Option A with a comment that A allows for crossbow use during the appropriate seasons by the appropriare people.

IMHO, crossbows are a pretty cheap way of killing an animal.  With the accuracy of a rifle out to half a football field away, the crossbow puts the animal through the not-as-quick death like a bow.  Cheating?  Yall can make that decision.  I think so.  Shoot a bow, not a gun. -Lee

Personally I see nothing wrong with someone wanting to hunt with a crossbow they are as traditional a weapon as the longbow. I would not hunt with one, just as I will not hunt with/target shoot a compound, but that's my choice. Banning crossbows for hunting is, in my opinion, the same as banning muzzleloading double rifles or for that matter Matchlocks! All the weapons mentioned in my post have been availble for at least 6 or 700 years if not longer.

The "modern" crossbow doesn't compare to the crossbow of William Tell days. Crossbows are available for those with disabilities or for use during firearms season as negotiated by the parties that have a stake in this in Michigan. So it is a restriction not a ban, and "MOST" traditional archers agree that it should stay that way and not be allowed for unrestricted use during archery season.

Cyrille:  traditional bows have been around for over 9000 years.
THE VOICES HAVEN'T BOTHERED ME SINCE I STARTED POKING THEM WITH A Q-TIP.

Thanks Mr. Krebs, I was reffering to the firearms mentioned in my post. I know that traditional type bows have been around nine or ten thousand years! and I did state "if not longer."

Once again you know where to vote. The other discussion has no place here.
