Yeah, no kidding! Frankly I wasn't expecting to see that % so high. Looks like they(crossbow industry)  may be stacking the deck on this one.
I reckon so

Any online poll where someone has a financial interest in the outcome is invalid.
Wherever you went - here you are.

They only prevent you from revoting for 24 hrs...computer types can set up a program to do that every day!

There has been strong opposition except from some very selective areas...this is definitely a move by producers, not end users.
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!

I think its fine if they allow crossbows let those who wish to hunt with them do so.  I dont see how it will effect bowhunting or they way i hunt ill still hunt trad.

Voted no, but don't worry- they'll be legal soon. There's too much money to be made selling those to the "kill at all costs" crowd. Can't wait to hear the same boneheads complain when there actually are no deer left in the state.

There was a sudden upswing in the number of votes for approval. It went up like 1000 votes in less than an evening. Keep on keepin on folks!

Anyone who doesn't think that legalizing crossguns in Pa. won't effect bowhunting, must be tremendously naive!!
All the panty-wastes who are simply too stinking lazy to be real bowhunters will come pouring out from under their rocks.
I remember when several of us used to go to a particular state watershed to hunt in Maryland when it was flintlock only. It was wonderful because the gutless wonders who were simply too lazy to keep their powder dry were not there. Then Maryland opened the season to in-lines and the swarms who like a challenge , but not much of one, showed up with scopes, kevlar stocks, stainless barrels, primers etc. and it was a massacre and we don't even go there any more....nothing left, and that is what will happen in Pa's archery season as well when crossguns are legalized.
I must give the crossgun companies credit though...they know how to appeal to the masses of hunters who want it easier, and easier and easier.
I remember very clearly a man who showed up at a local archery shop with a robin-hooded crossgun bolt from the crossgun he bought the day before. He was thrilled and said..."Look at this..I didn't even have to shoot it in...it's just like my rifle...now I don't have to practice at all"! In my opinion shooting a deer in archery season with a stinking crossgun is akin to picking up a roadkill! Nothing more!!
I fear the future of real bowhunting looks very bleak!!  Cottonwood

Maybe I am naive but i dont see it having a big impact on bowhunting, I could be wrong but I still think that if some hunters want to use a crossbox then they should be allowed to, as long as im still allowed to hunt with my recurve or longbow i have no prob with someone using whatever they chose to hunt with as long as it's a legal device.  Many said the same thing when the opend the week long smokepole seasone in archery and so far the best i can tell there's been no problem with that. Same thing with the atlatl when they were going to make them legal, and everyone got all bent out of shape over it.I hunt the way i want to hunt and I let others hunt they way the wish to. Am i wrong why would allowing X-bows to be used be so bad,

I tried the same thing.  This is the very reason polls like this are too easily weighted and are very misleading.

I just voted twice in a matter of seconds.

Ohio has allowed crossbows for the 23 years I've bought a license and the deer herd keeps getting bigger every year.  They are just another tool to use.  If we loose more hunters in the field in the numbers we have been then we loose our voice.  If a man, woman or child wants to hunt in a legal and ethical manner I will in no way discourage that no matter what weapon they choose.  We just choose to use a traditional styled bow.

The crossbow kill in Va. was up 21% from 2006 at over 8500 animals, Archers took a little over 17,000 deer. They do take alot of deer, but that seems to be what the state wants. To me it aint archery, theres no commitment to it. These people dont shoot these things for fun. Theres no need to practice. They buy them, sight them in and leave them in the closet till a week before season starts. I hated to see it when it became legal here in 2005. Just my 2 cents.
