My dad and I went to one of our favorite public hunting locations early this morning, and I set up near the big oak tree where we've seen alot of deer, and the area just has that right feel about it. I sat down on the ground against a tree in a spot where I added some extra naural cover earlier in the year. About a half an hour after I used my rattling bag, I saw the big buck that I've been trying to get all season comming straight towards me. He was comming so close that I was worried he might be planning on walking right through where I was sitting. Finally he changed direction and started walking broadside to me (at about 10 yards) he was close enough that I was worried if I grunted to try and stop him, that I'd spook,  him but he ended up stopping on his own. I picked a spot on his side (meanwhile trying to ignore the antlers) and shot. I missed the spot I was aiming at by about 10 inches. Luckily I hit him in the spine, and I was able to give him a mercy shot which landed right behind the shoulder blade and into the lungs. I used my 45# Bear Kodiak magnum with homemade ash arrows with 125gr Magnus II 2 blades.
I'd like to give a special thanks to my dad ("gingivitis kahn" on here) for putting all the hours into taking me hunting, and teaching me how to hunt. Couldn't have done it without him.

Alright, I know you guys are all pic junkies so I apologize for not having any atm, but we did take abunch and I promise I'll post some as soon as I get a chance.   :D

I'll leave it to Squirrelbane to post any additional pictures but as his dad (Father of Squirrelbane - sounds Norse), please permit me to post a couple...

This first is a shot of the deer where it was killed...

And this is a nicer shot (better camera) of the same buck after we got him home...

I couldn't be much happier.
