Well some of you know that I'm in the K.C. Urban hunt, and if you read Missouri Hunt Stories 2008 thread I lost a BIG one last saturday morning.  Well this morning at 8:15 had 5 does come down the trail to me.  I checked to see if a buck was following, but didn't notice any so I said i'd try one of the does.  I let the first three go by and was gonna take the fourth.  She went behind a tree and drew back, but the fifth doe spotted me and bolted.   :knothead:  They all looked around and the first deer saw me letting down to half draw.  I had to hold it for like 20 seconds before she looked away. I was shaking bad from holding.  When I let down I took a few deep breaths and the deer I wanted started to go back up the trail the way they had come.  I drew back again picked my spot and let loose.  I couldn't tell if I hit her and heard no hit.  I just sat down and knocked another arrow.  I was going to wait and get down about 9:00.  Twenty minutes later another doe comes down the same trail.  I thought this time I'm gonna shoot sitting down, never done that in a treestand before.  She caught me moving my left leg under me, but kept going down the trail.  When she got to the same spot, I drew picked a spot and hit her a little high and caught the fourth rib from the back.  She jumped and ran up hill and stopped 25 yards from impact and wobbled.  She then went a couple more steps and did a back flip. Down for the count.

Got down 10min. later and found both arrows.  First arrow was inline and 6 inches above the second arrow with no blood or anything.  Complete miss.  Second arrow covered in blood.

Twenty yard shot.  Chekmate H2 50#@30" Goldtip 35-55 100gr. insert and 125gr. Magnus stinger 4-blade.
