Thanks David. I got big plans for it. I just gotta hold up my end of the shooting ,I know it will do its part. I got some old ACE broadheads I`m gonna hunt with first. they sharpen up real easy.Good luck all and be SAFE!!!RC

Great going RC, work comes first.  Always has and always will... Sometimes it's a bit tough to swallow but it comes first. That's the way I was brought up, the old way.

Good luck with your new bow.

I bought a Super D on this sight.  It was a beautiful bow, but I quickly sold it. The diameter of the grip was simply too small.  I talked to another member who had the same problem.  Do the grips all run on the small side with this bow?

nineworlds9

Yeah the Super D is Super slender.  LOL.  I still want to hear the final word on it:  Hill bow?  R/D? Lol

hey guys. I haven't been on here for a while. I've kinda been cheating and using my olympic bow.

Needless to say i came back here for a peak and i fell in love again. The bow of my dreams before was the Shrew Hill, i'd love to get one but i think i read they are no longer taking any more orders? Is this correct?

nineworlds9

Indeed the Shrew Hill is also my favorite Hill bow to date.  It is an incredible feat.  Barely 1" wide at the fades, the tips are 3/8"!!!  The deep wedge grip is outstanding.  I personally spoke to Gregg Coffey about them and it seems they were very labor intensive and difficult to build because of the proportions.  Not sure if Ron will have Chuck Deschler try and make them??  If so I hope they are the same specs as the original version.  The Coffey made one I had only got sold because it was righty and I'm primary lefty and have an elbow injury in my right arm.  We can hope some new Shrew Hills will come.  I have my eye out for a lefty.

I am a lefty also. I cant seem to find many lefty hills looking for a new home.

I know where a blank is just waiting to be made into a bow  :)  Boo and maple lams. Brown glass. Osage riser. Made like the Hills of old. 68" NtN and the blank right now is 48@28. After shaping of limbs it might drop to the mid 40s.

It's sister bow is a lefty  ;)

When Mike Ballenger made my bow the first blank missed weight, a tad light, so instead of asking to if I'd take it he made another bow. And there it sits, waiting to be made into a bow. Looking for someone to get the bug and give it a home  ;)

Went out this morning checking a few spots for deer sign under some white oaks.  A squirrel hunt broke out and I arrowed this little gray at about 15 yards.

I think a Super D is as much a "Hill" bow as a backset bow from Howard Hill Archery. I have a bow bolt take down Super D and I wear XL gloves and the grip seems fine to me. I did mention to Dan that I had big hands but I don't know if he changed anything.

Thanks for getting us back on track Charlie.  Season starts here in two weeks.  It may be 100 degrees, but Centex and I are gonna be after 'em as hard as the skeeters will be after us!

Very nice Bud!!!  Food for thought.  That narrow nice deep grip is the key.  Nice narrow limbs.  Still not quite as skinny toward the tips as the Shrew but awful close and danged closer than anything else out there...

What would Mike want for the finished product??  :)
