Bud B.

Specs as known:
1899-1999 #33

14.5" fade to fade on riser

five lams bamboo of various widths

66" ntn

limb width 1 3/16 at widest

top tip 7/16 wide

bottom tip 3/8 wide

deep core @ 2 3/16 with suede

Weight? - who the heck knows. It's not marked and I can barely string it push/pull method. I'd guess the low 70s. I wrote Craig Ekin about it and they made them unmarked for weight. Only the "1899-1999" and the bow # was on the bow. They have no record of the weight of each numbered bow. Only 90 were made of the run of 100.

I didn't buy this to collect it. I bought it to shoot it, but, I'll have to work up to it for sure.

The buy was unexpected. It was on fleabay and I had written the seller about it. I was outbid. According to the seller the buyer had a problem come up and through our earlier correspondence I sent the seller my number in case he wanted to shoot sometimes. He lives about an hour from me. When the sale didn't go thru he called and I answered, literally. I felt it was one of those "2nd" chances. I didn't let it slip by.

Not sure if you can tell from the pics, but the back glass is a dark green. It is truly a classy classical American Semi-Longbow. Backset is around 3/4".

I like that green and white thing, the myrtle and the left hand thing. 3/8" in the bottom tip, that's narrow for a Hill. I like narrow. Too bad that bow is too stiff for you at your draw, however, it is right my wheel house. I am getting tempted again, I must wait till after, deer season, I must wait till after deer season.

That's a beauty Bud....nice catch!

Mike, holy crap I think you just named it...

My wife is from Texas.  Her family lives not far from La Grange.  The day before our wedding we drove to La Grange to meet with the reverend that married us.  He wanted to interview us to make sure we were compatible.   Crazy!  Plus that name does Lamont granger more honor.  Now I can't wait to get this bow.
Glad you thought the name was cool, Chuck.  It just came to me out of the blue.  Pretty neat that you've been to La Grange and it has some personal meaning to you and your wife.

Now if you do your best to forget that ZZ Top wrote a song "La Grange" about a house of ill repute, everything will be just fine

If you've every had an outside cat, you're well aware of how they can disappear for short or even long periods of time then one day out of the clear blue they suddenly reappear. Well it happened here! My Howard Hill Cheetah "Keeper Kat" has returned once again. She's as sweet as ever. 66" 56@28

Gorgeous bows everyone.
I really enjoy the juniper lams, and I'm a sucker for brown glass.. So many choices.
I just got my new Berry Northstar and am already thinking my next bow is brown on back, white on belly.
I have the sickness

We all got on the topic of string loops a while back and how some of us prefer them real small.

A few weeks back (month or so) the string broke on Morningstar due to a rough hanging hook at te range which left me with no way to shoot for 2 weeks untill I got back home. TG member LinemanMike sent me one of his spares so I could continue to shoot . Thanks mike.

The only issue was the loops were too big making it almost impossible to string up so to remedy situations like this I seize the ends of the loop to shrink them down.

So if anyone has loops too big, give this a try. It really does work well

That loop started out a touch bigger than a quarter, now about the size of a dime

Here's something for you Howard Hill quiver fans. I had this one custom made from HHA to be a bit smaller in diameter so that I can carry only 3-5 arrows at a time. It is 22" and fits beautifully!
