Will I be able to notice much quality improvement in regular 4 inch prints if I go to a 6 mg from a 4?

Thanks,

Rick

Probably not Rick, In fact you probably wouldn't notice until larger than 8x10.I think it has more to do with sensor size and type than it does MP. I have seen 8x10's from 2MP cameras that were beautiful.

The one advantage that more megapixels offers is if you crop your photos.  You can crop out a significant portion of a 6MP photo and still get a very good 4x6 print.

Thanks for the comments - I was hopeing for the answers you gave.  Fortunately my current camera has a 10X optical lens so I am able to reach out and touch my subjects rather easily without needing to do much cropping.

So a follow-up question - Olympus now has a faster disk/card for recording pictures (H xD), will this provide better pictures or just allow for shorter wait time between pics?

It won't improve the images but it allows for a shorter write time when recording and allows for faster download speed to your computer.

Thanks John!!
