Try a file instead of a rasp on those knots, it's easier to clean up the tool marks!

Not to change the subject but is it common for  both Yew and osage to be very knotty woods?

I'd say yes...I've seen good and bad of both. It's just like anything else ya get what ya get...  :knothead:
