Kathy, I got lost again there - are you buying a new, used car, or Chris's new bow .... or the pig .... or the squirrell ... or what? Oh well, doesn't matter. Darned nice looking bow Chris made there - looks like he had some good "home tutelege" along the way there, Cal, along with some good natural ingenuity thrown in on his own. Can you imagine how many fine bows he could build now by the time he reaches your age ... or my age? Staggering!

How thick and wide is the handle section? I have a bow that is now going to be a bend through the handle bow and I need some dimentions. thanks

Madpigslayer

well...she is about an 1 1/4" wide at the handle and approx. 1/2" thick. that is including the sinew. This bow would not have worked without the sinew.

sinew is magic.  :)
...gosh this is hard.

Thanks pigslayer. The bow I'm trying to make work is a 50 in. piece of hickory. Its going to be a kids bow. I'm not worried about high poundage. I it is currently 1 inch at the handle.
