Friends

Our stopover in Frankfurt is almost 11 hours.  I got a room at a hotel (It's the Hilton, Coldfingers, so behave).

What about our bags?  Since the stopover is 11 hours, we can't check the bags through to Jo Burg.  Will we have any problems with the bows and broadheads going through customs/security at Frankfurt?  Thanks in advance.  Most of what I have found says that they will be considered sporting goods, and cause no concern.  But I'm looking for personal experiences here.  Thanks!

Hello Ben, I traveled through Frankfurt this past Feb and March with Bow, Broadheads and Knife.
My bags were checked through though, no issues.

To my knowledge, only Schiphol, Amsterdam/Holland are hostile to broadheads and knives.

Drop an email to the German Bowhunting Association on the above link.

Andy.
Hunting was hazardous, but at least it guaranteed the freedom of the individual.

There is no doubt that the onset of farming saw the end of leasure for the majority of people, who were destined to toil in the fields.

The good news Ben...I stayed at a hotel once.

The bad news...it WAS a Hilton! Something about having quarters in the bathtub ;*)

Maybe I will have to just guard the pile at the airport eh?

I noticed the price for bushpig...YIKES. Gonna be a spendy bucket list this one!

I am getting pretty wound up and doing endless putzing with gear to keep my head screwed on straight for the next day. See ya tomorrow evening perhaps. Thinkin I should have done this when I was younger!

Porquipines are peacefull creatures, but God still saw fit to give them quills.

In Germany Bows, arrows and Broadheads dont underlie any limitations, they are considered sporting goods as lon as you dont seem to poach or get anyone in danger wich wont be the case inside of Frankfurt if you have em inside youre bag and not pieced together.
So, no worries, wont be a problem as far as i can see.
And sometimes our dreams they float like anchors in hopeless waters oh way down here
Sometimes it seems that all that matters most are all the things that you can't keep
