After watching a buffalo hunting video yesterday, I came to wonder. When one of these guys...

... took 6 shots from a .500 caliber rifle, before dropping to it's knees ... how the hell will I ever be able to take it down with a bow?     :(
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.

you can take one dawn with a bow no problem
just need the right set-up, one of the benefits that plays in the favor of the bowhunter is the silence of the bow greatly reducing the animals adrenalin.

i know of Buffalo that where killed with a .22
and some that have taken several hits with 416 rig or 458 lot

quite a few getting killed every year with a bow

here's some film i took of a buddy of mine "Mick from Trophy Bowhunts Australia"  shooting a Water buff

Completely forgot the reduced adrenaline due to virtually no sound from the bow. Those .500 magnum blows must've definetely startled it!

It's 1:26 AM here, so I'll look forward to watch the video tomorrow. Thanks for answering before my beddytime

tradtusker

Clint Micks set-up i think was similar to yours about 69lbs at 30" draw 820gr arrows
the long draw really helps

the shot was strong quartering away it was about prefect

they are so much fun to bowhunt
i hope you get a few killed when you get back home

OK Shooting a 43#@28" BW Recurve. 43# due to rotator cuff problems some years back. What would be the absolute MINIMUM poundage needed to KILL a Cape Buff?? All things as shot placement arrow and broadhead wieght are already considered perfect. Keep in mind that training /practice with heavy poundage will most likly result in shoulder damage. What is absolute minimum to still be in the game?

Onions

Andy,
Great video's I can watch them over and over!!
