Got back from Dries Visser's in South Africa last week. Would reccomend the place to anyone. First class bowhunting setup. Only shot a couple of animals (guess I need to go back), but had the opportunity for many more. Here are a few pics from the hunt. Both animals were taken with my Schafer and Razorcaps. Hope you enjoy. Will post a few more pics when I have the time.

Congratulations! It doesn't get any better than red dust and blue sky... Fine animal, and a great bow, too! I hope you don't get into trouble for using a Razorcap instead of a Woodsman! Cheers, Ben

Thanks! Yeah, I was torn on what head to take from my quiver, but since I got the 'Caps directly from my Dad I figured I would be OK. Actually, these were the first animals I ever took using Razorcaps. Nice broadheads.

Awesome photo and great shooting!
I need to start my Africa fund tomorrow.
It may take awhile on a teacher's salary but I'll find a way.
Congratulations!

I'm a teacher as well. You can do it my friend!!!

You must go !  I got back from South Africa last week as well and took 3 animals with my bw psa.  Africa is a mecca for traditional bowhunters.  You must go!  I'm not sure how I will pay for it yet, but I'm booking again for 2010.  I hunted with Matlabas Game Hunters and and will be returning.  However, Mr. frost, my ph, was very familiar with Dries Visser and said that Dries Vissers was a great place to hunt as well. Good luck !

Barry is my Dad (at least that's what they tell me), although I went on the hunt with Uncle Gene.  :biglaugh:   Sometimes even I get 'em mixed up!!

" Just concentrate and don't freak out next time" my son Tyler(age 7) giving advise after watching me miss a big mulie.

Jason is holding back. Street talk is: his first trip to Africa.. his first shot.. the tip of his Dale Dye hits a metal bar on the roof of the blind and blows up.. but his arrow thankfully misses clean. This is one of the negatives on being 6'3" rather than normal like me. Show us your warthog son. xoxo Dad

The limb didn't blow up, but I was just not comfortable with what happened to the tip. It was chipped and I didn't know if it would affect the way the string held in the grooves. Fortunately, the arrow sailed over the impala's back. I had an extra pair of limbs for the Dale Dye, but decided to go with my Schafer instead. Very glad I did.

Guess it is in the blood. Congrats on a super looking animal and a great experience. Thanks for sharing.

Jason Wensel,, I've heard of you! What's this about a warthog? Whatya waitin for, let's see it!!

Barry Wensel

Marty: Jason's warthog is listed a couple threads down under "Whoops" because he forgot to post it on this thread. Nice pig. bw

Marty

Barry, quit makin excuses for your kid, he's a teacher now. It should be under this thread so he needs to correct it. Let him grow up, willya?

Gary Logsdon

Hey, the "kid" sort of looks like Barry Wensel, except, er, YOUNGER, TALLER, BETTER LOOKING, and DEFINITELY A BETTER SHOT than Barry's been lately.  How's your aim on black bears Jason?? . . . HA, I just stepped in it:^)!
