I haven't posted for awhile, but regularly visit and do send up my prayers for all.  With that said my family has been through some trying times the past couple of weeks.

My mother who has Alzheimers and has been fighting it for several years, has had some complications. My father, who has not been separated from her for more that 2-3 days in nearly 46 years, had to place her a nursing home.  This was last Tuesday.  I could tell it's breaking his heart to be separated from her, but he knows its in both their best interests.

Secondly, my stepson who is active duty Army, has been notified he will be deployed to Iraq just after the new year, needless to say my wife is beside herself.  If that wasn't difficult enough, his wife of just over a year, has decided that she is not happy and is filing for divorce. They have a beautiful 20 month old little girl.

The prayers are not for me but the members of my family who are coming to grips with these challenges.  Being a retired Soldier, I understand the deployment and duties required with that honorable profession.

Lord, please watch over my loved ones during these times of challenge.  I know that you see all and have a plan in mind for us, which we may not understand.  We place our lives in your hands, knowing you will do your will. Amen.

Yours in Christ.

Nick,

If we've still lucky enough to have living parents, we're going to go through things simliar to your challenges.

The extra stuff you're handling..and those in yoru family, make life a challenge headed into the holidays.

Prayers for discernment towards God's will, peace, trust and reliance on His will for all...your Dad, your wife, stepson and his wife.

Life throws much at us, but God is always there if we but surrender. Hardest lesson I ever have to learn every day!  :)

Blessings to all.

Thanks everyone for the support.  Mom and Dad are adjusting to the new arrangements as well as can be expected.

My son is doing as well as can be expected.  He has family support and support from his chain of command.

Bless you all for the prayers.

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])
