There has been some interest lately on the Kodiak and Kodiak Special Deluxes.  I have been cleaning up this old bow for the past couple of months and finally am getting to the point that there isn't much more that I can do for it.  I notice a couple of spots that need a bit more polishing and there is some rubbing compound around the coin, but another half hour or so and it will be finished.  I did manage to save the original screen prints and lettering on this bow.  I put on a replacement strike plate but didn't have a new feather rest so that is still original.  The surface of the glass is very smooth but the camera has picked up every little glazed fleck in the clear glass, so the glass doesn't photograph to look as smooth as it really is.  That is a disappointment to me as I spent many hours trying to make the limbs look good.

I feel really bad about your disappointment. To spare you any further pain, I would be willing to relieve you of this bow and be sure that it never disappoints anyone else. I'd even pay the shipping ... and teach myself to shoot left-handed. All in the name of altruism, of course.

Don't listen to anybody who tells you otherwise with false flattery. I'm the only one who will tell you the truth about this.

Charles, you are a real stand up guy.  Willing to come to my aid like that.  I will sleep on your offer and if my disappointment has not lessened by tomorrow I will start packing it.

Seriously, I am right handed and have several Deluxes already so this bow will sooner or later be sold or traded.  It was just kind of rough and needed a facelift so I killed some time and enjoyed working on it.

That's a beauty.  And to continue in the spirit of Charles' altruism, I'll second his offer....and I don't even have to teach myself how to shoot lefty!   :cool:

Gosh, you came so close to perfection! I would also to be willing to ease your frustration, and if you need to get that constant reminder of coming just a millimeter short of perfection out of your sight, send it to me, we will never speak of it again, and I will promptly send you a lefty 1971 Grizzly that was received an amateur paint job  with flat black, brown and green camo spraypaint..you can make that camo job perfect, post photos here, keep the bow, shoot lots more critters with it and reap accolades untold.

Wonderful refinishing results!

Like you, many times I have been disappointed that images of a bow do not look as good as the bow actually looks in real life. I've found that turning off the auto flash and using the light from a 200 to 350 watt light bulb in a reflector on an inexpensive adjustable stand, enables the light and shadows to be moved around to different angles to get the desired effect.
