I have a A Riser Ser. # A-1522 with Limbs 2-4727 that I bought from a Bear (Grayling) employee in the mid 70's. The handle is marked with a "B" after the Ser. # which stood for Blemish, employees could buy these bows at the factory. Any info would be appreciated.

If the bow is a blemish what would I look for.

next to last pic-looks like the bubinga/red stripe doesnt "fade" right-what is the dark stuff there a glue fill in?

dougw56

I live about 25 mi. west of Grayling is there anyone close that could look at my bow and advise me if I should refinish it or could shoot it. Its been in the box not shot since about 1980

Shane Reed

I highly doubt that it would be in your hands if you couldn't shoot it. Likely a cosmetic blemish. If it was shot in 1980, I am sure it can be shot now. The limbs you have are plenty light enough.

I bought the bow in the 70's and shot it alot then 4-H Archery Club and hunting. Just wondering if age  would make it unsafe. woundnt want to damage it. Thanks

Doug, I have three early handles. I shoot them alot. If you have looked it over and you see no places where there seems to be separation, shoot it and enjoy!

I'm in traverse city and would like to look at it, I have a few takedowns and other treasures you might like to take a look at, I used to shoot a lot at the graying clubhouse back in the day.
