I was fortunate to have this beautiful bruiser come my way



I shot it a couple of times-quiet and smooth but 65# is too much for my old joints.
The previous owner bought the bow new and hunted with it a lot back in the day.

How can you tell a 59 from a 60? Some where I thought I read it was the tips.

Did the 59's have a copper coin?

The accepted method for dating 1959 and 1960 Grizzlies is the tips: 1959 it was Micarta and 1960 was Fiberglass.
The F/G is shiny and rounded whereas the micarta is multiple layers like paper, flatter in shape and 'softer' texture. In fact Micarta is impregnated paper.
The tips on this bow are Micarta; which makes it a 1959.
The coins will vary from nickel to brass willy nilly, and not by model year.
The grip sizes on both model years are the same, although I am sure they did special orders if requested.
