Woodchucker sent this to shell and the USPS did a BANG UP job on getting it here. I sent Bowdoc a pm and email but he must be busy as all or my emails are junk. So thought I would ask here.

TRAP

In the third picture it looks like it's cracked all the way to the tip. Is that the case?

Before I gave up on it, I'd put a fiberglass overlay on that section, match it on the other end, cut new string grooves and since I was there anyway I'd put new tip overlays on the other side as well.

Dont have anything to lose except time.

Bowdoc is gone for the weekend, but I'm sure he will respond when he sees it.

Unless there is some sentimental value here, I would file an insurance claim (it was insured, right?) and you should have your money in 30 days.  Unfortunately, the post office will not let you keep the damaged goods if you file a claim.

Boy frank, they sure did a job on it, thats just sad.  I hope Rich or Doc get you straigtened out, those olk Kodiak Specials are wonderful shooters, it'd be a shame to see it hung on the wall.

I'm guessing some loctite forced down into the damage area might work, and maybe a belly overlay to reinforce the area.  It won't be exactly 'original' but it would be better than nothin. Tim

No not insured. I don't think it's cracked all the or at all. it looks like just the glass. If she can be fixed to be shot that would be awesome. shell is kinda bummed as I am but it was a gift and I know the person feels bad but hey it was not his fault at all. If it cannot be fixed it will still be a tresured gift from a a great friend.<><
