Here is one I have that I took down to dust off. See if the experts know anything about this one. Short bow only a little over 36 inches long unstrung. Maroon glass both sides with white glass tip overlays. Large wood grip out front and an aluminum overdraw. Shoots thru the center of the riser. Autographed by the original owner:Monica Hildenberg. If someone wants to tell me how to post pics I will do that. Neat old bow.

Bowdoc is getting close. Overdraw has a brush rest glued on and it is a recurve. Pics are on the way.

This is a flight bow, used for shooting an arrow the farthest possible distance. Many of these bows were a one shot deal as they would break upon release.
It was almost a dry fire condition, very small light barrel tapered arrows.
This could be a Drake as there are some similarities to the Drake I have.
Mine has an aluminum overdraw with the toothbrush rest, but not the center shot window or forward grip.
 
 
 
 

Thanks Raghorn for the pics. I thought this would make an interesting post. This flight bow was used by Monica Wildenberg in 1967. She set two records. One in 1968 with a 35 pound bow shooting an arrow 495 yards 1 foot 7 inches. And one in 1967 shooting an arrow 566 yards 11 inches. I believe this is the bow used in 1967. It is signed by Monica and is in excellent condition. It is a rare piece as stated most of these bows did not survive and were a one shot deal. Possibly made by Harry Drake for Monica. I would be interested in what the possible value may be but it is not important.

Here is a pic of couple flight arrows maybe belong to that bow....You can see why the bows blow up upone release of the arrow..Please note the size compaired to a standard 5 inch fletch 11/32nd shaft.Those flight arrows only weigh about 180 grains I believe.And are normaly footed with hardwood...bowdoc

I've seen pics of it,but never the bow.Several years ago,I snagged a Drake off freebay.Nice looking purpleheart riser 54" Hunterflight with black fiberglass on both sides...When I got the bow,I was heart broken,nope the bow was not broken it was actuly in mint condition..cause no one ever shot or could shoot it I think..It must have been over 100# on that 54" frame...I did string it,but could only draw her about 10 inches.Swaped it for a Super K...man that was dumb.bowdoc

The shooting thru the center of the riser description would make one think SABO. It is a neat piece of archery history that I enjoy sharing with you all. No one has a clue on the value though. By the way BOWDOC you nailed it on the description alone good job.

I seen several of those types of bows and actuly shoot a couple of them.Kinda cool shooting bows.As for the value I would say somewhere around 200.00-400.00 pending on condition.Those are collectable bows,and there are quite a few guy's kinda getting back into flight shooting and collecting of them...Pretty cool bow.bowdoc
