Like the previous recipe this is a great camp meal.I got this from a friend who said the BSA use to make it at jamborees.......Hamburger,onions,potatos and  salt&pepper to taste. Wrap everything in heavy duty aluminum foil or two wraps of regular foil and toss on the coals for about an hour. I know this sound to simple to be good but it is! If you have a different way to prepare this dish, lets hear it!

yeah, throw a mater in there too [that would be a tomato to you yanks]  "[heman]"

Another good add-in is Lipton's onion soup mix.

You fellows post your "go to meal" when in the swamps or woods and need a quick meal. I know there are some I haven't heard of so let see them!  :)

can't get any easier than pbj sanwiches  :archer:

Come on Jim, you can do better than pbj,s .  :)  Where are all the good cooks hiding? L.O.L.

The easiest is breakfast the next morning.  Chop up the leftovers, meat, potatoes, veggies and throw them into a very large frying pan with some oil.  Get them good and hot and dump in a dozen or two eggs and make yourself, and the rest of the guys a fritatta.  Some buttered toast and you're done with minimal effort.

For meals, I make most of them before hand and freeze in the foodsaver.  Chicken or squirrel or rabbit gumbo, venison or beef/pork chili, pulled pork, bbq brisket, crab and shrimp crusted salmon, smothered sausage and shrimp, stuffed venison roast, etc...

Not a go to meal, but core out an apple, stuff it with butter, raisins, and brown sugar. Wrap it like above in aluminum foil and add it to the fire a little bit before you pull out your burger and taters.  By the time you finish your dinner your dessert will be ready for you.

By the way, if you guys want to see some great campfire meals get an older Boy Scout handbook and look under the cooking section. And when I mean older I mean stuff from the 60's and earlier.

Add some A-1 sauce, goes great with potatoes and any kind of meat.

I'm not a woodworker, I don't know why God chose me to make bows.
