Is it typical to have a bareshaft that flies great when loosed from a gloved hand to show weak when a tab is used in gloves place.  This has been consistant with all of my bow/arrow combinations ever since I noticed the difference.

I'd say YES.  The tab generally allows better finger movement than most gloves, so less interference with the string as it goes.

If a bare shaft flies weak when shot from a tab, but good when shot from a glove, then I suppose that could be a way of fine-tuning.  However, everybody I know has strong preferences between a tab and a glove, and would prefer to fine tune their arrows some other way.

It's interesting when things like that make a difference.

Last weekend after an indoor round I switched to my 3-D bow which I shoot with a glove. I went back to shoot my indoor target bow which I shoot with a tab but forgot to take the glove off. Took me a few arrows to figure why they were diving low and left until I realized the problem.
